Class Levels
We offer four class levels in all class styles so that regardless of where you are in your practice, you will find a class with us.
Beginner
Beginner does not necessarily mean easy. Depending on the class style beginner can still be challenging, yet this level focuses on forming the building blocks for future practices in said style. That being said, compared to the higher levels in the same class style, it will be easier. Always take this level first if you have no prior experience in the given class style as it gives you an opportunity to familiarize yourself with the format and style. This level is for all practitioners.
Moderate
Like beginner, this level is for all practitioners. There is nothing in this level that cannot be done with the proper props or modifications. It will be more challenging that the beginner level, however it is still accessible and a great way to work towards the higher levels.
Intermediate
This level should only be approached with experience. There are some postures and exercises that are beyond moderate and require some skill and foreknowledge. That being said, always self monitor. These practices can be taken and if anything comes up that is not working for you, do not do it and move on with your practice. The majority of the classes in this level are working towards one, two or a few peaks where all the muscle engagement, opening and awareness come to a head to experience the peak posture or workout.
Advanced
This level should only be approached with experience. Whereas in an intermediate practice you are building to one or two peak postures or workouts, an advanced class consistently presents peak postures and workouts throughout the sequence. There is great need for foreknowledge and body awareness of the postures or workouts, which will not be broken down extremely thoroughly but will still be cued. This level is meant for people who have been practicing for quite some time and feel the need to push the limits of their body and mind in new and creative ways.
