Welcome to your Chest Strengthening, 100 Pushups Challenge Flow. Pushups are a compound movement that calls upon almost every muscle in your body for proper execution. As you lower your chest to the floor, the muscles on your backline eccentrically contract, finding length under tension. As you press away from the floor, your biceps are given the same opportunity for stretch under strain. Within our traditional yoga practice, there aren’t many places to build chest strength. Adding pushups into our daily regimen intentionally grows areas that may have been otherwise neglected. Get ready to challenge yourself, physically, mentally, and spiritually!
Before starting this class, check out our wrist stretch warmup. This short 5-minute class will bring mindfulness to weight distribution within your hands and prepare you for the many pushups to come! Please know that as within every practice, there are modifications available for your personalized flow. Dropping down to your knees while moving through repetitions will offer stability as you build strength. You can also connect one knee to the earth and extend your opposite leg back to work on core stability. If you take this option, please switch up your legs to even out your oblique activation!
